Tkps Vs Fengshan Primary(Finals!)
Today, was the East Zone Finals at ITE Simei. We left for ITE Simei at around 11.30a.m. as we would have our lunch there. After we reached there, and we had our lunch, we went to the indoor sports hall to watch the first match. Then at 2p.m.,we started to do our warm ups. First, we did some stretches, then we did pair work and then some goal line passes, and centre passes.
At 3p.m., we started our match. We had some bad passes, and drop balls. But at the same time, we also had good things, such as good rebounds, tips and interceptions. The final score was 6-1. The reason why we only managed to score 1 was that our shooters were not sharp enough and that some of our players panicked and threw bad passes. Once we came out of court for break time, we were given the hair- dryer treatment as we had a bad start. But never mind, we could still catch up!
In the second quarter, we improved slightly, but not enough, as we had not yet caught up with Fengshan. There we still some negatives, but at the same time we also had some positives. In this quarter, the players that had done well were Zay Hua and Juana. The both of them had some interceptions, loose balls and some rebounds. At the same time, our shooters, Celine and Linnet were getting sharper
In the 3rd quarter, we did better than the other quarters as we were catching up on our opponents. The best part of this quarter was the last 3 minutes, when our defense would intercept many passes and the mid-fielders and the shooters would convert it into a point. Before we got back into the match, Mr.Njoo told us to play the 4th quarter like how we played the last few minutes of the 3rd quarter.
Once we got back onto the court, we all were ready to play our best. As the quarter started we gave all our best to intercept all the passes as well as to get the rebounds, and loose balls. We would also try our best to convert every turnover. Although we did well in the last 2 quarters, we could have improved on the first 2 quarters. Now that we know what we did wrong, we have to improve on it so that we can be ready for nationals, and turn our silver medal into a gold medal at the nationals!

East Zone Junior Soccer 1st Round
TKP Juniors vs St Stephen's Pri 4-1
The junior soccer boys, were going to play against the one and only St Stephen!!! St Stephen is a really good school. It is really difficult to beat them. Their defense is really tight and it is hard to avoid them. Here is what happened during the match.
It all started when everyone was in 5 Olympism Classroom for a briefing before the game (again). Mr Shahul (our soccer coach) was briefing us about formations and strategies. It was a very important day for us, and we all showed a serious face and listened to Mr Shahul attentively. The coach told us that our target was 2-0, but that was the minimum. All of us had the same feeling. We all felt enthusiastic, but nervous.
We went downstairs and boarded the bus that was going to Qiaonan Primary School. The bus was extremely small! It could only fit 20 pupils (but there were more than 20), so all of us had to squeeze. After, 10-15 minutes, we finally arrived at Qiaonan where we were going to have our match.
We did a few stretches and warm-ups, as usual. During the warm-up, we had to split into 2, the Goal Keepers and the mid-fielders and others. All of us were trying very hard to get everything right and to warm-up properly before the game.
This was going to be a huge battle!!! We did a confident huddle screaming “TK!” as loud as we could… At last, the game started! There were many wonderful saves by Aaron, our best Goal Keeper. Naviinjaay scored the first goal. There was a clear corner to Naviinjaay and he headed the ball straight in and scored!! TK was leading 1-0. There was another shot made by Alif. We were still leading 2-0. And that was the end of the first half.
The second half, Jose took over Kendrick since he was extremely tired after playing the first half. St Stephens scored a goal that was straight into the goal post. Aaron almost caught it but it was too late. St Stephens now has 1 point. The score was 2-1. We continued playing and Hairi and Ian managed to score a goal each. There was one huge weakness during the game: The ball hit the crossbar at least 5 times when attempting for a shot.
Surprisingly, Naviinjaay was the star of the team for the match today! One was the clear corner and scored straight in (what I have mentioned) and there was another where it was a 1st time volley by him, it hit the crossbar but St Stephen’s Goal Keeper did not even notice. His best words during the game were “Don’t be scared of them!” Good play by Naviinjaay!
We won 4-1 to a really good school, but proved that we were better. We beat our target too! It was suppose to be 2-0 but we beat it! Congratulations!!!
